Anna University starts bachelor of vocational courses in two colleges

 CHENNAI: Anna University started two bachelor of vocational courses — in logistics management — in logistics management and footwear manufacturing — at university colleges of engineering in Kancheepuram and Arni

“There are 40 seats in both these courses. Students would get jobs after the completion of the course. The last date for admission is on October 30,” vice-chancellor

Anna University and sector skill councils have jointly prepared the curriculum for these courses. The council will arrange for on-the-job training and evaluation of skill components.

Students, who have studied in academic and vocational stream in Class XII, can apply for B Voc programmes.

Velraj said the admission to work-integrated BE and B Tech programmes would start after the approval of the state government to the admission process.

The AICTE has given approval for 22 engineering colleges in the state to run work-integrated BE and B Tech programmes. The class timings can be flexible in evenings or weekends.
